Hey, my name's Maria and im 22. Together with my boyfriend we got 3 suggies: Ninja, Chuck and Chi. Ninja and Chuck have been with us for a bit more than half year, Chi is new Smiley Chuck was neutered few weeks ago and started to SM. Oh boy what a stressful time we all had...

oh yeah, he's doing better now...He will stay on antibiotics for two more weeks and will have to wear e-collar...I'll try to upload a photo of him, looks a bit messy in it coz i was feeding him atm Smiley

Welcome and good luck!  My first glider, Lan, started self mutilating 5 days after I got him.  Over 4 1/2 years later, he's still here and doing great and I have 13 gliders...lol.

he's an adorable little fella...chewed stitches three times, two of them - straight after waking up, vet had to give him sedatives.. didn't crab at me or bite even once, even  when i was trying tu put the collar on... As if he knew that this needs to be done...
Strange how things like these - seeing him suffering and having to cope with stress myself - doesn't put off from having these animals, just loving them more and more...

The first instinct a suggie has when awakening from anaesthesia is to chew!  Two ways to stop them attacking stiches are instruct the vet to use either internal stiches or surgical glue, and be ready with treats and food as soon as they come round.  It's a bit late now, but you never know, it might be useful in the future.  Smiley

Yeah. I did some research about it, turned out it just wasnt enough...and vet said they never had problems before so i thought everything will be ok. Next time i'll know  Smiley
