Hi all. I am the proud mummy of 2 gliders that arrived yesterday! This evening however my little girlie is making some odd snuffly noises and rubbing her nose a lot. It is almost like she is continuously sneezy and snuffling bit sounds a bit like chirping?! They also don't seem to be spending much time together and are sleeping separately. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Any advice ASAP would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Jackie

The sneezing is normal, they're cleaning themselves.  Sleeping apart needs work, are they brother/sister or have they only just met?

They've only met you and have lost everything that was familiar...  Just let them settle.  Offer them treats only, but don't force your presence on them.

If I were you, I'd prob leave them a couple of days/nights to get used to their new surroundings. Pop their food in before they wake up so you don't need to put your hand in while they are awake. Just spend some time sitting by their cage so they get used to your smell, movements and the sound of your voice. then you can slowly introduce your hand, some people find putting yogurt on the back of the hand a great way of bonding (make sure it's the right yogurt, you'll find info on it in diet section) plus, you could get them out while they are in the poucch and slowly intro your hand to stroke them. There will be lots of crabbing, but hang in there, it does get better. I found a pop up tent extremely useful. I sat in there for a couple of hours every night with them. leaving them alone and the then came to me. I offered treats so they associated my hand with nice things.
