Hi - really hoping for some reassurance. My lovely girlie only arrived on Saturday and already has a vet appointment :-( she has been 'snuffly' since Sunday and it slightly hindering her eating. Today tho she has just popped out for a snack and I have noticed that her front left arm/foot is swollen and she cannot use it. Not even to hold food! I don't think shecaughtit on anything as she doesn't come out much yet but am wondering if a mealworm could have bitten her (have large ones cos of dragons)! I will now be-head them first just in case.

Do they cope ok with vets and will she get better? I had the option of 'swapping' her but can't. We area already committed to her!

Any advice?

Hi,
I cant give much advice really, i am sure your vet will manage her OK, maybe take her and her suggie partner to the vets together so she doesn't get too stressed. if she is given batril as an antibiotic its very bitter and i found mine would only take it if i mixed it with an equal amount of honey.

Good luck with everything.

What are they sleeping in? Are the worms in a dish or are you dropping them into the bed area?

Hi. Thank you. We were at the vets for almost 2 hours!! They loved her. I did take him with us! She was fab. She sat in my hand the while time. She has an infection in her pad on her frontleft foot. Quite big! Also a respiratory problem - like a cold. Her nose has also turned black :-( she really is quite poorly. She has had an injection of anti-inflamatory and baytril. She also needs to go back In the morning. Not sure she will last the night tho :-(.  I have just syringed some diluted fruit purée into her as she a bit dehydrated. Fingers crossed - I am quite smitten with her now

Hope you have a good night little one xxx

Sorry! Was meant to say that the worms were in the cage and they are the large ones. I am thinking maybe the other female she travelled with poss bit her? Surely it can't be him as wouldn't get infected in that short time and there hasn't even been a sniff of a disagreement between them?!
