Hi, my name is Cathi and I have joined this forum as I am really interested in getting a couple of sugar gliders... But am finding all the information out there very conflicting!! A lot of the websites I have come across have very limited information which doesn't seem to match anything on any of the other websites.. And this forum seemed like the kind of place I could get some genuine advice and help!! I'm also rather cynical of many of the adverts I have come across for sugar gliders for sale as they dont seem genuine, so if anyone can point me to a reputable seller who I could talk to properly (rather than them just trying to get my cash!) it would be really appreciated. I'm going to have a good read through all the posts as I'm sure they will answer most of my existing questions but will post any others I think of :-) Thanks for having me on the forum and looking forward to speaking with you all! Cathi

Ha, I was the same. I read everything I could find and got myself so confused until I found this place. It's abit frustrating when you hear how easy they are to get hold of in the US, finding a breeder over here can be hard. But now I have mine I like it that way, it means that people actually have to make an effort to own them rather than just picking one up from a shop and throwing it in a hamster cage because they don't know how to look after them...
Where abouts in the UK are you based then?x

Hello and welcome! See you've come across Mr Amey too. He was my first port of call unfortunately. Just because he was the 1st to pop up on google I also read loads of American sites and found loads of rubbish. Then came across a site that was meant to be a vet in America going on about them. Then watched a vid of some clueless woman saying they were a nightmare. You've def found the right place here tho! I was the same too, I had me eye on them for about 3 year and then started doing 'proper reseach'. I've now got 2 gorgeous little girls and I feel like I've haad them forever now. I got them in July! Anyhoo, have a good read up and ask any questions, apparently there's no such thing as a stupid one, which bodes well with me

Hi Emma!
It's good to hear it worked out well for you! And good to hear that their are no stupid questions as I think I have already posted one! Just posted a query about the space i need.... I think the first part of my time on the forum will just be about clarifying what I had read already... And the accuracy or otherwise of it!!

Bridlington, East Riding. I'm getting a male for my two girls next week as I plan to breed but wont be introducing them until after new year as mine are still abit too young. If your still searching next year and I'm lucky enough to raise two healthy joeys then i'll let you know x

Yeah,I read so much different stuff out there. Not even going to mention the stuff Amey told me!!! This place is great tho, there's always someone about to answer your daft questions I spent 2 solid days (thankfullyI was off work) literally reading through everything, figuring our most stuff I thought I'd researched was actually pretty inaccurate!

And thanks for the welcome everyone! It makes the whole process seem less daunting when you know there is somewhere you can get accurate and genuine advice.
