Right, quite newto this so still getting to 'know' them. My female is lovely and nosey, eats locusts, worms, fruit, lead erred etc and enjoys coming out. My male however likes nothing more than to stay snuggled in his pouch, doesnt eat much at all - won't touch an insect but will scoff yoghurt and yoghurt drops forever!! He looks and appears healthy. We have even crept down in the middle of the nightand he is STILL snoozing!!! He is a lovely gentle thing and loves being close and having his head tickled. When we 'force' the issue and get him out he will have a token run around before finding a snuggle area 5 mins later!!!

Is there such a thing as an incredibly lazy glider??!!  I'm guessing the eating little is linked to moving little lol!

Thanks

Sorry! Predictive text! Meant to read leadbeters ! The room is the lounge so mostly 22-24 and close to radiator. Also have a heatpad. If they get too warm there are other cosy spots to move to. In the evening we only have soft lighting on. The gecko's think it's dark enough lol!

Thank you

Leadbeaters is not a good diet, I would try and move them off it and on to a diet that is less sugary.

As they are in the living room maybe they are not comfortable coming out of their nice, warm, safe nest.  Loud noises from the TV or maybe they jusy haven't got used to you yet.

Will they take treats off you?

Thanks Marie . Leadbeters is only a tiny part - they also get lots of fruit and some veg and the girl is quite taken with locusts. Yes they both take treats very well and dont mind being stroked. Maybe just too cosy!

I asked about the treats because suggies are clever little monsters and learn quickly (which is why we don't rush to them when they bark!).  You need to try training your gliders to come out to the sound of the treat bag/box.  All of my gliders get treated every night, and it's ideal so you can check them all if you haven't got time to get them out.

Personally I would encourage the lazy one out of his pouch, rustle the treat bag/box, and give them both a treat.  It means overdoing it with treats for a short while but they'll soon get the idea.

Ahhh marie I've tried this, but my lazy one will take the treat and run back into the pouch/nest eat and stay there for about another hour or two, while the other will sit in the corner scorning me "You woke me up"
