Her female gliders tail ...

Her female cage mate of 4 years died a few weeks ago. She just got a young male to live with her, they've been together for about 2wk now I think (dnt really know specifics yet) but she's noticed this on her tail. Any ideas?x

Looks like she's lost the end of her tail and that is the bone sticking out.  A trip to the vets and he will probably take a bit more off to 'seal' the end.

Agreed.  Get to the vet, they may have to amputate further down to keep the rest healthy.  They had to do that with my Lan who is a self mutilator.  Of course, after the amputation and before I really knew anything about e-collars and such, Lan chewed off the surgery site and the bone was exposed for quite a while.  The vet said we could let him be and see what happens, amputate further with no guarantee he wouldn't do the same, or put him to sleep - I chose to let him be and thank goodness I did!  The skin and eventually the fur grew back over that exposed nub of bone and he's perfectly fine now, if a bit stubby-tailed...lol.
