Well, since we have winter and cold my sugars stopped eating fruits and the only thing they are interested are insects.

I can justify me female because shes pregnant and she needs more protein.

But the male also wont eat his fruit.

I was getting anxious.

But when i was talking with 2 different people here in Greece saying that the same thing happened to them ass well, i was relieved.

Iv read different articles about the difference in diets of mosts seasons.

Right now because of the cold their instinct tells them to make more fat reserve.

The insects alone are not a good diet, as you say they may be after more protein in their diet but alone this is not a good diet and will not be doing her any good. It's cold here now but my gliders diet never changes, I may increase or decrease the amount of food they get but that's it.

They eat fruit, but very small dose compared before.

Nothing changed in their diet but compared before the fruits are 50% less.

Its natural you cant do nothing to avoid it.

You can avoid it by keeping the temperature in their room pretty close to the same. You have a female with joeys, so she really needs to have a balanced.

My gliders eat their fruits and veg all year round even in winter when the temp in their room drops.  In winter, if you cannot control the environment temperature effectively, it's very important they eat more as keeping warm burns energy.

so in that case their diet has totally changed if they are getting 50% less fruit and veg! Thats the most important part of their diet.  The male has probably decided he doesnt want to eat fruit cos he will get insects instead. I never offer mine insects as their isnt very much protein in insects anyway, so the fact your pregnant female is eating mostly insects means she is not getting the nutritional requirements that she or the youngsters need.

Year round mine eat fruit and veg mix, even when the temperature drops slightly. Only thing i do different in the winter to the summer is put more fleecy bedding in for them or up the quantities of their food. If the temperature in your room has dropped to the extent they are needing to rely on fat reserves then the temperature is way to cold for them.

Put more bedding in for them and warm the room temperature up. Your female will be losing alot of energy nursing or growing joeys, so she will be at most risk if she is not getting the correct diet, which she is not....

Mine are eating the same as they've always done, just increased their portions, and they still clear their bowls!

They now get 3 cubes each per night with 5 Iams, all gone in the morning. I'd feed them more but I don't want them to get fat. Thers not a spec of food left over but they surely aren't going hungry ... x
