OK, it was partly my fault for not locking the utility room door the PO leave our parcels there and as we live out in the sticks it feels quite safe, plus our dog has a bark and growl that will scare anyone who doesn't know her but still....

This afternoon we took Mungo and Dixie's twin joeys to the train station to hand them over and meet up for a chat with their new owners,
All went well until we arrived home.

The first thing i notice was that someone had been in our house Shocked doors were open that i had closed. we checked around and everything seemed as it should be although my daughter said some toys were gone from her room, i decided she must be mistaken.
about a half hour later she came home and said a neighbough had found a little creature outside their house which they thought might be ours:o
I threw on my shoes and started trotting up the road to find them coming down the road carrying a box, they said their daughter "found" a sugar glider outside Angry.
Anyway, to cut a long story short this 8 year old girl had come into our house and took Mungo out of the cage and to her own bedroom to play with Cry we have been so lucky that Mungo's wife was still tucked up in her pouch and their young twins had moved away that afternoon as it could have turned out so badly.
Maybe she has done us a big favor as after living on a remote Orkney island a few years ago i have became quite lax about home security.
BIG Lesson learned Embarrassed

The girl from another house came to your house, took Mungo out his cage and carried him back to her bedroom? And her parents didn't realise she was gone? At 8 years old I didn't dare leave the room without telling my parents where I w as going, let alone 'break' into someone elses house! Your so lucky none of your animals got lost in the process x

what was the little girl doing on your property in the first place, never mind entering your house! i would of been furious!

Your very very lucky! You should especially lock your doors if you live in the sticks! No neighbours to watch over your property!

So glad everything turned out alright in the end!

Hi all,
thanks for all your comments,

i am not too sure if this girl has mild learning difficulties and i think her family are quite soft on her, she stays at her grandparents house here at the weekends, they are nice people and were mortified by what had happened. she has been inside our house before to play with my kids but yesterday she knew we were out, she even waved at us as we drove past her!!! its been a big wake up call to us, i accepted a apology from her mum and gran and told them all's well that ends well Undecided i will NEVER leave my house unlocked again, it was  a very numpty thing to do:-[
