Hi We are new to the sugar glider forum and are going to be proud parents tomorrow for the first time of April and Abu. Just to briefly give a quick summary.... We have been looking into getting Suggies now for about 3 years since we were handed down a large 5ft cage from a relative and couldn't decide what to put in it. My husband, being a snake fanatic, left it up to me and thats when I came across these amazing animals. For years, everyone I have spoken to has tried to put me off suggies and up until now I have listened. In September, I started to look more into suggie care and diet etc and was shocked by the conflicting amounts of information out there. But after comparing notes, watching countless amounts of videos etc, the time came last month when I found a breeder (who in fact directed me to this site) and took the plunge. Which leads me to now today when everything is now prepared for my 2 suggies to come to their new home.
So hello to everyone and I look forward to getting to know you all! Charlotte.x

Hi Charlotte, welcome to SGF. There is a lot of conflicting information out there and it's very frustrating for new suggie parents. Congrats on getting your suggies

I know, its crazy! But I guess you just have to add things up and work out what is actually sensible, especially if you are serious about owning these gorgeous animals. Marie, do you own the shop in your signature? If so I have just purchased a few suggie items from you Great shop, first I have found that is not based in the states! C.x

I gave up looking at the US sites TBH, some of them are good but alot of them are full of misinformation. Take You Tube for example, there are videos on there by so called Glider Vets, don't be sucked in by them, the association they say they belong to doesn't exist, and some of the practices they advocate are questionable! The shop in my sig is mine yes . As a suggie parent I know how hard it is to find supplies and it seemed logical to me to open the glider shop as part of our reptile shop. It was so expensive shipping from the US all the time due to postage costs so I thought I'd help out .

Hi, and welcome to the site! You're story is pretty much identical to mine. I fell inlove with them at 1st sight but spent about 3 years dabbling into various sites etc, all telling me how bad they are as pets etc, eventually I found this site, spent a while as a guest stalking all the topics, lol. Then joined up and went to visit Marie to gather more info, I got to meet one in real life and that was it, decision made, lol. I've not looked back since. Although they are very mischievous |(one of mine is at least) I love them to bits and counldn't imagine better little pets. Marie summedit up in one when I met her, the smallest pets with biggest pet personalities. She was bang on (for a change *sarcasm*) All the best on your new ickle ones and congratulations

Hi welcome to the forum. Hopefully you won't find much (if any) conflicting info here. All the posts are based upon actual suggie experience, and quite a few people here have had years and years of suggie experience. and tbh that's the sort of info I'd trust more. Good luck with your suggie parenthood!

Pretty much left them too it last night, but got up this morning to find all food gone, and everything in their cage pretty much re-arranged. Little tykes.... Cant wait to get them out tonight after work and have a play properly! Ill post some piccys up soon
