Cleo, the cat I was given over 17 years ago after I was diagnosed with diabetes was put to sleep today.... She was given to me to help me through the "low days" new diabetics are known to go through. She would sleep under my chin and then if she got cold, would wake me up by licking my eyelids so I'd lift the covers.... She still slept like this everytime I visited, even though she didn't sleep with anybody when I wasn't there. In the summer, we'd sit on the porch steps and eat ice cream together... She loved sugar free fudgesicles....
Although, she was always an indoor cat, she enjoyed short supervised jaunts outside... This was her last meander outside:

And here are a couple pictures I have up in my hallway of her as a kitten with Nomad (who's also gone now)... She used to sleep buried in his tail.
