I know onion is toxic to sugs and most animals but what does it actually do that harms them and are there any other foods that are similar to onion that harms them??

rhubard - contains oxalates which can cause poisoning
fried products - obvious really fatty foods etc
onion family such as leeks, shallots etc can cause anemia
grapes can cause renal failure and death
rasins etc renal failure and death
pork an easily spoiling meat and high risk for any animal
