Noticed last night that both my girls are quite the trapeze artists ... they speed across the ropes in the cage, fling themselves all over, dangle upside down with 1 foot ... I only really noticed when I was watching Stitch try and do the same. He is so much more heavy footed and his balance is shocking compared to them!
So I was just wondering, hoping all goes well, when the time comes for Boo to be having two little joeys clinging to her body, will she be more careful as to not let them fall? Because they way she swings around on the ropes as she runs accross them I can imagine it to be very likely that one would fall off her! Will she learn to be careful and realise they are there?x

Mine are physically just a reckless as always. I do find they are shyer when their bumps get big and when the babies are just OOP and a bit more nervous too.

They tend to move differently when their joeys are big, but not necessarily more carefully *lol* also once the joeys come oop, they get left in bed and Dad carries them quite a lot

are you girls more careful mark or just the same? Is it normal for joeys to fall off by accident or do they keep good grip?x

I'd imagine all groups are different... When I was breeding, my males helped with carrying the joeys.

Hi all, My males hardly ever carry the babies, i have only seen them do it when they are moving house (when the babies are about 4 weeks OOP and just starting to venture outside the nest i place their smelly pouch on the cage floor and leave a clean one higher up for them to move to, they often hitch a ride from dad to get there. they have a very strong grip and will grab on with their teath too

To be honest i dont notice any difference in my females behaviour, they are always first on the food anyway, but i dont feed them anything extra, they still run on the wheels and jump around. it does get a bit swkward when the joey gets large in the pouch but once they are out they just leave them in a pouch anyway, only really coming out when they get a bit older. the guys are just the same as usual. to much fussing is not needed. they will be fine.

I've had males and older siblings carry the joeys. Once, one of my females squeezed through a small hole with joey on her her back, only the hole was too small for both of them! The joey got scraped off and ended up clinging to the side of the cage! I was about to intervene when an older sibling rushed over and ushered the joey on to his back!
Suggies really are amazing animals!
