Hiya,

I'm looking for a few enrichment ideas for suggies to enjoy and to keep them entertained

I've started working on my rather huge enclosure today, got the basics in, just need to do the front and top, put the mesh in, paint it with japlac, then plant it and kit it out with toys, ropes, wheel ect... oh and then get the suggies of course Grin lol

So far the enrichment ideas I have are
• Hiding a couple of mealworms, yogurt drops, dried mango/papaya in long grass in a pot on a shelf and make sure its secure
• Filling holes in branches with acacia gum or fruit mix gumivore fare or bugs/fly pupae
• Spreading a tiny bit of Australian honey on a branch for them to lick off
• Using THIS to put a piece of fruit or veg on it but just observe them while they are using it so they can't hurt themselves
• Using live native plants and 'mini' fruit trees for them to climb on, strip bark and leaves but I will let the plants get fully established and near adult size first so hopefully they can with stand the punishment lol
• Changing toys on a weekly basic

I was planning on doing something fun for them once a week as well as changing the toys but treats would be restricted because I wouldn't want them to become over-weight or anything

So does anyone have any other ideas?

Its similar to the putting treats in the grass kind of thing

I'm trying to think of things I can do so they can show natural behaviours, if that makes any sense Embarrassed

polar fleece is the best, but nearly any fleece will do. cotton fleece does tend to bobble and go lumpy after a while though....

I think them are the little pom pom balls you can buy from tesco or anywhere that sells little craft things like them fabric pipe cleaners.

Some people use plastic balls, i'd use the pom poms I think. Sometimes they throw them around in their hands, some hav e found their suggies napping in them. I think I may give it a try x

Mine love it when i give them a piece of sugarcane. i cut a section in half and use strong wire to attached it to the side of their cage, they have to work hard to scoop the inside out and it takes a few nights. i have also made a "trapeze" which is a parrot type wooden perch on a wire  I have put a dish of food on it.
I have done this as one of my males is fat and wants to eat everything while his wife is not. She can jump onto it but he is heavier and can sometimes get onto it when she has jumped off and it’s still swinging! Hours of entertainment for them and me!!

fabric leaves that are used in reptile tanks are great mine strip them and use them as bedding, cheap cat balls like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25pk-10-LUXURY-Cat-Kitten-Jingle-balls-Toys-Pets-JOBLOT-MARKET-WHOLESALE-CARBOOT-/320842281409?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Cats&hash=item4ab3b0b1c1#ht_500wt_1156 and put treats inside drives them crazy Smiley
