Hiya Me and my girlfriend (amusingly, is called Joey) are going to look at our first lil suggie joeys this weekend. I need a little bit of help though first, 1stly - A cage, where is the best place to get one from, as Im not exactly the best handyman, and seriously doubt my ability to make a decent home for them. 2ndly - Where is the best place to get the live plants/branches from...and does anyone have a link to somewhere which has a list of which ones and good, and which ones to avoid. I would appreciate all help and tips Jay & Joey

Jay, if the trees in your garden have not been sprayed (either directly or by drifting spray from neighbors), are not near a busy road (the plants absorb the poisonous bits of car exhaust), and are non-toxic, then branches from your yard are fine.

When I use branches from outside, I just "cook" or freeze them before giving them to their intended. Kills off any yucky bugs that might be hiding in the wood.

Bay Leaves contain laurel oil which can aggrevate sensitive stomachs and cause dermatitis in us humans and bay is toxic to cats, bay leaves are also near impossible to digest - so i think all in all i'd probably avoid the wood from a bay tree (although, i have not heard of the actual wood being toxic only the leaves)
