Dear all!
introduced myself a week or so back as a potential owner!

now have 1 1/2 year old phil and lil who are settling in well approaching the end of their 2nd week with me - both will eat from my hand and walk up my arm if it is in the cage... sleep for 2 hours in the bonding pouch...

yet to manage the getting them out the pouch without crabbing or moving hand at all without them freaking even within the cage! or having pouch open without them freaking

and discovering their personality and confidence changes with the time of day!!!
phil is timid and wont come out in late evening
but by early hours he walks above my head in cage to look at me and this morning was hanging on the door looking at me!
whereas lil will be socialable mid evening and comeout but then goes back to bed and gets jumpy in the early hours! very odd!

but yes very definately in love with them! and honoured I can now stroke them if they are eating! and have been peed and pooed on several times!!!

lil has also made an escape from her cage twice which is interesting and then a challenge as she then gets so frightened even with yogurt cant approach her to get her back in the cage (any tips?!) so far scooped her up once and the other time herded her back to cage where she then ran in

discovering lots of people want to see them (and am heading them off for now!) but how did people get photos of their gliders and do they tolerate it, can you use flash etc
would like pictures but dont know if a foreign object in my hand would be scarey

thanks
h

take care all

Aww glad to hear they are settling in well!
You can take pics from a distance, zoom in to get a bigger pic. Hopefully that wont scare them too much.

As for her escaping. Do you know how she is getting out? Instead of going towards her with nothing in your hands, offer her a pouch or her nestbox. She should run back into it.

Would love pics when you manage to get some!

It only comes up after the messge has posted. I think thats what you mean anyway, when you type it doesnt show as a smiley just the punctuation. Grin

hday

best thing i have found with my suggies is leaving them to it - once they have had enough of looking at the outside of their cage they are surprisingly good at finding their way back to their beds.

My 2 boys were out of their cage one night when i first got them and i couldn't get htem back in so i thought i'd sit and wait to see if they'd calm down.... next thing i knew i'd woken up the next morning snug in my bed with two gliders who were snug in their bed!  Although - note the actuial room they were in was totally "glider proof"
